An Organization is the fundamental VCD (Virtual Cloud Director) grouping. An Organization contains users, the vApps they create and the resources the vApps use. An organization can be a department in your own company or an external customer you're providing Cloud resources to.


To set up a new organization:


  1. Log in as an administrator.
  2. Click on the Home tab.
  3. Click Set up this organization.


When you arrive at the Name this Organization page:


  1. In the Organization name field, enter the name for your new organization. (This is the unique identifier in the full URL with which users log in to this organization. You can only use alphanumeric characters.)
  2. In the Organization full name field, enter the name that you would like to be displayed in the cloud application header when users log in.
  3. In the Description field, enter a description for the organization.
  4. Click Next.
