You can connect to a virtual machine right from your desktop by using the Remote Desktop Connection file.
Requirements:
- The virtual machine must be powered on.
- The virtual machine must be running a Windows guest OS that has Remote Desktop functionality enabled.
- The virtual machine must be on a network that has an assigned IP and is accessible by the client.
- You must have the RDP port 3389 open on the guest OS.
To set up remote desktop connectivity:
- Log in to CloudPath.
- Click on the My Cloud tab.
- In the left pane, locate the My Cloud section.
- Click VMs.
- Select a virtual machine, and then right-click your selection.
- Click Download Windows Remote Desktop Shortcut File.
- In the Download RDP Shortcut File pop-up window, click Yes.
- Save the file.
- Locate the file and then double-click it.
- Click Connect.
